Fees And Passes

Every dollar you pay stays in the forest — fees fund the cleaning, maintenance, water systems, and staffing at the sites you're using.

How to pay

Buy Online — or purchase at any staffed kiosk or fee booth.

Reservable campsites

Book and pay on Recreation.gov, the official reservation platform for these sites.

Annual Day-Use Pass — $50

Unlimited day-use parking for a year at every day-use area we operate, from the Big Sur coast to the Santa Ynez River. Covers day-use parking only — not camping, dump stations, hookups, or showers. Non-transferable.

First-come, first-served sites and day-use areas

Whenever possible, reserve and pay online before arriving. If online booking is not available, see the campground host or other on-site staff to pay. Where no staff are available, use the self-service fee envelope and pay by cash or check.

Discounts & federal passes

Senior and Access Passes

Senior and Access Pass holders, including legacy Golden Age and Golden Access passports, receive 50% off the base fee for one single-family campsite occupied by the pass holder. The discount does not apply to utility hookups, group sites, additional campsites, or other fees.

Day Use

America the Beautiful passes are not accepted for day-use fees at the recreation sites we operate. Frequent visitors may purchase our $50 Annual Day-Use Pass, valid at participating LPNF Recreation day-use sites.

Fee-Free Days

Standard day-use fees are waived at participating sites on designated federal fee-free days. Camping, reservation, and other expanded amenity fees still apply. Not all LPNF Recreation sites participate in fee-free days. Please check the Current Conditions page for participating locations before your visit.
